Parks and Recreation

Seminole County is home to many parks and preserves that serve as a direct look into the past. Seminole County's Parks and Recreation prides itself on maintaining its natural vegetation, trees and marsh lands that provide great research opportunities to local schools and is home to Florida's natural wild life including the Bald Eagle. One of the county's best examples can be found in Big Tree Park where the 3,500 year old Bald Cypress donated to Seminole County by Senator Overstreet in 1929 can be found. Many of the parks feature natural beauty, convenient parking, picnic tables, and sport areas. Popular sports include fishing, water sports, basketball, volleyball, soccer and tennis.  You also have direct access to the St. Johns river and Lake Monroe.
